about

Trico Boy is one of the precursors of modern Malian music. He made his debut in 1968 with the orchestra “ Pioneer Jazz “ from Médina Coura (Bamako, Mali). He then arrived in Ivory Coast in the early 70s where he founded “ Les Asselars ” with Cheick Tidiane Seck and Mahamane Tandina. After 50 years of musical career, he got his very first album published in the Lost Maestros Collection. This album, “ Rue 14 ”, displays us a quick glance of Médina Coura where he has been living the most of his life. He became one of the dean of this populated neighborhood of Bamako where he continues to play his music with enthusiasm.
